Press Coverage of Marxism 2000
If you've seen an article on the conference, please let us know.
Politics and Culture published two reviews of the conference in its first issue of 2001: one by Caren Irr and another by Michael Rothberg
The Wall Street Journal did a short article on the conference on September 22, 2000:
Tony & Tacky
Opiate of the Professoriat: Apparently not everyone sees the collapse of the Berlin Wall as the final word on the class struggle. Today the editors of the quarterly journal Rethinking Marxism kick off what they advertise as the fourth in their series of "international Gala conferences that aim to celebrate the richness of contemporary Marxism in all its varieties." Titled "The Party's Not Over: Marxism 2000," the conference appropriately is being held not in Moscow or Beijing or even Hanoi but in the one place organizers are confident they will find enough party faithful: Massachusetts.
