Volume 21 Number 4

With this issue we mark another important transition in the life of RM: David F. Ruccio is stepping down after serving as Editor for the past twelve years, and S. Charusheela will assume the role of Editor with the first issue of volume 22. Charu will work closely with Associate Editors Joseph Childers, Yahya Madra, and Maliha Safri and with the rest of the editorial board.

We see this transition as an expression of the vitality of the collective work of editing the journal—of the board itself, which is entrusted with the day-to-day running of the journal, and of the Association for Economic and Social Analysis (AESA), which sponsors the journal and elects the membership of the editorial board.
This collective endeavor is, as we have explained at various points along the way (in the editors' introduction to 9/4, the essay that begins 10/1, and most recently the interview with the editors published in 20/4, our special twentieth-anniversary issue), a complex combination of individual efforts and a shared sensibility. Indeed, we reserve for ourselves some pride in the fact that the composition of the collective and the distribution of individual tasks have changed quite substantially over the course of the past twelve years.
