Abstract:

We continue our class-analytical work on the household and family life by extending its purview to include the lives of children, the interaction between household and capitalist value flows, and fathers' household labor contribution. We show how and under what conditions parents' rearing of children also can involve mothers' class exploitation; the contradictory value relationship between feudal households and capitalist wages; and the class consequences of fathers' household labor. We also provide several implications of these three extensions.
